Collection: Unroasted coffee beans from South America
South America is the continent in the world where the most coffee beans are produced and where many coffee plantations can be found. This is partly due to Brazil, the country where most coffee beans are produced worldwide.
The following countries within South America produce coffee beans:
Brazil
Brazil is the largest coffee country in the world. About a third of all coffee consumed in the world comes from here.
Colombia
Together with Brazil, Colombia is the main producer of Arabica coffee beans. The country of Columbia is known for its high quality coffee beans.
Bolivia
In theory, Bolivia has everything it takes to produce high-quality coffee. For a number of years now, the country has succeeded to a small extent in producing good coffee beans. The country has a varied landscape with excellent climates for high-quality coffee beans. Bolivia is located high in the Andes Mountains. It is remarkable that this is the cause of the necessary quality problems with the coffee beans.
Ecuador
Ecuador imports more coffee than it exports. The average compatriot drinks instant coffee (80 - 90% market share) that is made from cheap Vietnamese robusta. Ecuador has an excellent climate, which could make it a top player in the specialty coffee market. She has never taken this road besides some small initiatives.
Peru
Peru is a large country with a large amount of different climates, languages and cultures. In the south of the country you will find one of the driest areas on earth. In the northeast you will find the tropical rainforests of the Amazon.
Peru, like many other coffee-producing countries in Central or Central America, has many fertile elevations. Coffee bean production has increased both in quantity and quality over the years.
